Prayer

No one has to carry it alone.

Prayer is at the center of our life together. Each week in worship we pray for members and friends of the congregation who desire support and healing. A published prayer list names the needs we hold in prayer through the week.

To add someone to the prayer list, call 860-667-2291.
Weekly in worshipWe pray by name for those who ask for support and healing.
All through the weekThe prayer list helps members keep each need in mind between Sundays.

Children, youth, and families

Growing up in faith, with room to be kids.

Preschool to grade 6

Sunday School

Teachers lead mixed-age groups through a scripture-based curriculum during the 10:00 AM worship hour. Children hear the Children's Sermon, then can stay in worship or head to class. Every child rejoins their family for Holy Communion.

Grades 7 and 8

Confirmation Classes

Young people explore the Bible, Luther's Small Catechism, and what it means to live their faith today. Hands-on service, like serving shelter meals and neighborhood cleanups, is part of the learning.

All shapes and sizes

Youth and Family

The Youth and Family Committee plans activities that strengthen the bonds of families of all shapes and sizes.

Music ministry

You don't have to be a professional to make music here.

Music is a big part of how we worship, and there is more than one way to take part.

  • Bell Choir plays regularly. No experience required.
  • Organist David Marottolo leads our congregational singing.
  • Instrumentalists on flute, baritone, French horn, and voice accompany hymns or play solos.
  • Choir rehearses every Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Come sing with us.

Community service

Faith that rolls up its sleeves.

Weekly feeding ministry

Gather & Give

Every week we share a meal with neighbors who need a helping hand. Everyone is welcome at the table. Gather & Give also takes up a monthly collection to support a different organization in Central Connecticut.

Clothing ministry

St. Paul's Shed

Our St. Paul's Shed collects clothing and passes it on to people around the world who need it.

Hands-on service

Community Service

  • Building homes with Habitat for Humanity
  • Collecting recyclable cans to support Camp Calumet
  • Care Teams who visit elderly, sick, and lonely neighbors
  • Other work for justice in our community
Interfaith partnership

Interfaith Community Action of Newington (ICAN)

Interfaith volunteers help Newington residents with household repairs, shopping, visiting, rides to medical appointments, and leaf raking.
